Bring your character through all stages of pre production to production while filming with a professional crew, actors, and cinematographer/director/mentor Chris Anthony Hamilton. Final scenes will be screened in front of a panel of filmmakers and given feedback.

In this foundational workshop taught by Directing and Cinematography mentor Chris Anthony Hamilton, you will learn the art of visual storytelling through lenses.
You will learn:
the multiple types of lenses there are
what they do
how they can best be applied to your film.
In session screenings of popular films will also be dissected in this visual storytelling workshop.
Cinematography for Directors: The Theory of Camera Lenses 102
In this continuation workshop of Cinematography for Directors: The Theory of Lenses 101 you will learn the theory of how different lenses and camera movement work in tandem with each other to help communicate your vision and emotionality of the scene you’re trying to direct. Your final project will be to write a monologue for a character that you have been workshopping to create a shot list, storyboard and photo board (?) using the lens theory and camera movement elements you’ve learned.
Cinematography for Directors: The Theory of Camera Lenses 103
In this final visual storytelling in person lab, you will take the elements that you’ve learned about lenses and camera movement in Cinematography for Directors: The Theory of Lenses 101 & 102 and apply it to a monologued scene that you will DIRECT.
Each Director is paired with professional Cinematographer & Mentor Chris Anthony Hamilton, a scripted monologue, camera, actor, small crew and a set of lenses to create their final vision. Final scenes will be screened at a later date in front of a panel of industry professionals and given feedback.
Class includes: Cinematographer, scripted monologue, camera, actor, small crew and a set of lenses
*Cinematography for Directors Workshop Series Level 1 & 2 are prep workshops for Cinematography for Directors Workshop Series Level 3, an in person 3 day lab where Directors will be paired with a professional Cinematographer, a script, camera, and a set of lenses filming the scene that they've crafted in the two previous workshops. Final scenes will be screened in front of a panel of industry professionals and given feedback.
