Day 2 (Session 2) : Rewrites, Troubleshooting and Feedback
Time : 12pm EST-5pm EST
Writing Hours : Group Session with Hudson
Practice read throughs with feedback from your instructor
Budget notes for your script
Rewrites
Day 3 (Session 3) : Final Table Read
Time: 3:30pm EST-5:30pm EST

Feedback Session from Actors and our Pro Panel
Q & A with a Panel of Filmmakers
The session will also include a “Writing Hours” session with Hudson where you will write live in class together. During that time, Hudson will also answer any questions you may have or walk you through any problem areas of your script.
Your final screenplay will be read by actors at a live table read with a panel of invite only guests that include actors, directors, producers, cinematographers and crew.
With this workshop you'll learn everything you need to know about writing a memorable, deeply moving, production-ready short film AND actually writing it!

Special Note: Your final scene will be written by you inside and out of class and then presented in a final table read in front of an invite only selection of people from the filmmaking community. All writing software is on the responsibility of the student to provide. Classroom teaching, actors, feedback sessions and critiques by industry professionals are provided by the class.

YOUR INSTRUCTOR:
Hudson Phillips is a screenwriter, producer, podcaster, teacher, and founder of ScriptBlast. Hudson's first feature as a writer and producer, the post-apocalyptic film THIS WORLD ALONE opened on iTunes "new and notable" list, received a positive review in the New York Times, and is now available on Hulu. It won “best feature” at six film festivals and “best screenplay” at two. His second produced feature, the grounded sci-fi romance GUACAMOLE YESTERDAYS is now on the festival circuit. That script won Best Genre Screenplay at Nashville Film Fest and Semifinalist at Finish Line Script Competition. He previously had a script optioned by Lions Gate Films, is a graduate of Roadmap’s Career Writer Program, a Semifinalist in Final Draft Big Break Screenwriting Contest, a Semifinalist in ScreenCraft Action & Adventure Screenplay Competition, and his scripts are in the top 50 action screenplays on Coverfly. Additionally, Hudson published the book WRITING UNFORGETTABLE CHARACTERS and his pulp sci-fi short story, SPILT MILK, was published in Infinite Worlds magazine. He has been featured on dozens of podcasts including Show Don't Tell and Making Movies is Hard and has taught screenwriting at events around the U.S. including Highlands Writers Conference and Red Clay Writer's Conference. He also founded the organization ScriptBlast which creates resources and cultivates community to help struggling writers turn their screenwriting dreams into a reality.
